Travel Guide: Newport Beach, California

My family and I travel to Newport Beach every summer, and enjoy a week there. I have found many great places to enjoy in Newport Beach and around the area.

Restaurants:

Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana~ This is an amazing pizzeria with thin, yet gooey pizza. I got the margarita pizza and added finnochiona, which is a spicy salami. I totally recommend it! They also have great salads and appetizers such as meatballs and a cheese and meat tray. The food is great and the staff is friendly.

The Deck~ This restaurant is in Laguna, but it is very close to Newport. They have a plethora of food and it is right on the ocean. Absolutely beautiful! I recommend the grilled cheese and tomato soup. It is the perfect spot to watch the sunset and grab a bite.

The Beach Comber~ It is right on Crystal Cove beach, which is the beach that we aways go to. The food is amazing and the view is great! I recommend the spring rolls and the fish and chips. It is perfect for after a day at the beach or a good place to watch the sunset.

Crystal Cove Shake Shack~ Just a classic burger and a milk shake are perfect while visiting the beach. The Shake Shack is also right on Crystal Cove beach. It is the perfect spot for lunch and they also have great breakfast. I always get their classic burger and the peanut butter milk shake.

Where I stayed:

We always stay at the Marriott Coast Villas. They are located across the street from Crystal Cove beach. They are individual condos that include two bedrooms, one has a bed and a pull out couch, two full bathrooms, a living room with a pull out couch, washer and dryer, and a balcony. The complex has many pools and gyms and there are shuttles available to take you to and from Fashion Island, Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove beach and other nearby shopping centers. The villas are great and everyone is so helpful and kind. Be sure to book your stay in advance because they fill up very fast.

Fashion Island:

This is a big outdoor mall, and it is the go to shopping place for my sister and I. This year it was the first place we went after checking in to the hotel. My favorite store is their Forever 21 because it is huge! Two stories! They also have Macys, Express, Vineyard Vines, and other great stores. There are some delicious restaurants. It is the best place for a shopper.

Fun:

Some fun things that we have done in the past are Segway tours, Pontoon boats, Duffy boats, paddle boarding, and bike rides. I recommend going on Groupon for good deals on activities.

Balboa Island/ Balboa Peninsula:

Such a fun spot! So many cute places to shop and eat, and it is also where we have done fun stuff like paddle boarding, Segway tours, bike rides and boat rides. But it is a great place to spend the day. There is a great beach that is super easy to access, great food, ice cream on every corner, frozen bananas, cute shops, a Ferris wheel, places to rent bikes. It is a must see.
